Basically what cash for clunkers does is gives folks a tax break.. that is how you get people to spend, personally though the cash for clunkers is kinda lame because it allows you to trade in for some vehicles that only get 18 mpg, which is horse shit. They could pump up the money incentives for buying solar power, lets face it a good solar system can cost easy 20k for an ok system to up 50k for one that could supply your entire home power, maybe even more, the govt gives you a 35% tax credit, they should give cash up front to pay on the install to bring the time it takes to benefit from the green power less than 5 years. Not only would this get the country off of coal quicker, but it would create lots of jobs, installers, maintenance for the solar panels, and wind power. It would jump start us on going green.
