Nowhere in the AZ new law does it say police officers shall go after Latinos or those that look like Latinos and ask them for proof they are in the U.S legally, it states that when a officer is questioning someone who is acting suspicious, or has broken the law weather it be loitering, speeding, or drinking in public etc, the officer can ask for proof of legal status to be in the U.S.
For the sake of saving face, I would just have all officers ask everyone to show proof of legal status when they ask for ID.
Someone please name one country where if you were there illegally and you went out in public and protested that your ass would not be arrested and in many countries much worse than that, in some cases I am sure in some of those countries the citizens would be doing some ass kicking on you if you were publicly snubbing your nose touting you are there illegally and have the right to be there etc.
We have laws, we have police officers, police officers enforce the laws of our country, weather they be local, state or federal.
The only way someone's civil rights would be violated is if a officer stops someone or pulls them over and straight up says, I pulled you over/stopped you because you are Latino and want to see if you are here legally or not.
The law does not say for officers to go find Latinos and ask them if they are here illegally.
Just about any law can be portrayed to have potential to violate someone's civil rights if the officer does not obey the laws he is hired to enforce. There are and always will be bad police officers, however to keep or not keep a law based on the fact that a officer might break the law himself, then many laws would never be in place.
